Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer turned 40 on Sunday 8 August.
Federer, who has won 20 Grand Slams in his career, is renowned for his elegant style and exquisite shot-making ability.
The annual four Grand Slam tournaments all paid tributes to Federer on Sunday, with the Australian Open sharing a highlights reel of his 40 best shots at the event.
Federer won six Australian Open titles – in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2017 and 2018.

The organisers of Wimbledon, where Federer has won a record eight crowns, tweeted:
“22 main draw appearances. Eight titles. One Roger Federer.”
Roland Garros, where Federer won the 2009 French Open, added:
“The Swiss Maestro. A very happy 40th birthday, Roger Federer.”
The US Open, where Federer won five consecutive titles between 2004 and 2008, also showed a highlights reel of 40 “can’t miss” Federer moments:
Federer is currently sidelined with a knee injury and will miss the upcoming Masters1000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati.
His participation at this year’s US Open is in serious doubt.
